Churchill 612 Pump Action Question Regarding Extractor

Hi guys, just got this shipped to me today and I was taking her apart when I noticed that the extractor has what almost looks like a chip... Can someone who knows about these or has one please confirm whether this is normal (something tells me it isn’t)...

Thanks for the quick reply... it seems to cycle snap caps without a problem, and in a positive note, the mag tube seems to actually hold 5 (2 3/4) not 4 like they are marketed...
