... Sporterized, mostly, No.4 Rifles;Polished and reblued,new forend and stock with a raised comb. Wood was high gloss, new fore sight (ramped) added, and the barrel cut-back and re-crowned. Sling swivels added, all in all, as I recall, they did a very nice conversion and I'd assume that the internals and head space was adjusted as needed. 'Not sure on the rear sight, but I THINK it was just the "L" shaped flip-up version. The blue/polish was really nice ! Never owned one, but there were lots of them around in the late 60s early 70s! ..... David K.
 
bullseye, you described right on.shoots great,just wonderig if I should store it or use it regularly to hunt,don't want to scuff up the missing link in someone's timeline in case it was rare.
 
Go ahead and use it. They are not all that rare. I used to own one, and boy would it shoot!! One of those rifles, I should'a hung on to!!

I have several Churchill's, and have bought and sold several. They are one of the better sporters. No more real value than any other sporter, $200 max.
 
Churchill converted 98 mausers, P14 and P17 Enfields, No 1 mklll and No 4 Mk1 rifles. I had one that was a 98 mauser rebarreled to 308 Win, simple, well done and very accurate. Headspace on all of their rifles, that I have checked was well within spec. They may have sporterised other types as well. bearhunter
