Hi
So I have a friend with a CIL 950c in 243win. He has miss placed the magazine for it and would like to get one. It is my understanding that the CIL 950c is in fact a savage 110c. Would a modern savage 110c magazine fit and if so does anyone know if the CIL used the long action or short action receivers? I ask because the owner of the rifle states that the magazine that the gun had was marked 270 on it which is strange as I would’ve assumed 243win would be in a short action and use a 308 magazine. I’m wondering if CIL just contracted only long actions to make getting stocks simpler so as a result the short action calibres had to use longer magazines hence why the magazine was marked 270. Otherwise anyone with a savage 110c with either a short or long action if you could measure mag length that may be helpful and savage doesn’t appear to post dimensions of mags on their website.
Thanks

Not a savage expert, but I believe at one time the 110's were all long actions, regardless of cartridge.

Does the stock and bottom metal look like the current ones? By looking at pics of 110c magazines, I would say they arent interchangeable, but best way to know is try one.

Hey thanks for the reply I figured it out. It is a first gen savage 110c action so it uses the intermediate action length and for the caliber the short mags so a 308 mag will work. It also uses the older side release/lock mags. I think he was mistaken when he stated the mag was marked 270 as that makes no sense from what I can find.
