CIL Imperial Ammo

Here's my contribution.

These two boxes came from my dad along with his Cooey model 75. One box is full and the other is about 1/2. I did my first re-finishing job on the rifle this past spring. It turned out pretty good. (I have to get some photos up in the rimfire Cooey section). He said he bought the rifle at Butters Hardware store in Dublin Ontario in about 1950 so I would guess these cartridges would be about the same year.

I found this empty box out where I was shooting this year ;-)

I used to shoot the ones the op has at the range when I was young.

Pics up shortly

Ah the good old days

Dang, those photos of the old boxes were a trip down memory lane. I still have some CIL in the plastic boxes and let me say that it's a heck of a lot better ammo than the bulk-box #### I can buy at the present time. I'm keeping it.

I learnt to shoot putting thousands of rounds of that old Imperial ammo thru a Cooey 600 tube fed bolt action 40 years ago, nice memories!

If you can remember the big tire fire in St Hubert in 1987. there was an ammo storage farm next door to it. they said it was a CIL one

CIL Imperial is far older than 20 years old. IVI had and used the name in the late 60's. Little or no collector interest in CIL ammo though.
Used ammo is empty cases.
