So, I purchased one of these from a fellow gunnut. Never held one in my hands before.

It is a takedown, semi-automatic 22LR rifle with a detachable magazine.

First thing I did was take it apart and thoroughly clean it up. Easiest semi-auto 22 I have ever disassembled, period!

Got it all tidied up, and lightly lubed with graphite. Mounted a rimfire scope on it, and took it to the range.

WOW! is all I have to say. This is a great shooting 22, and runs flawlessly. Tried several ammos, and no issues with any.

However, The ELEY practice shot the best. [well under ½ at 50M for 5 shots.] RWS Target rifle shot well, as did Lapua Super Club.

Think I have a winner here, and no modifications needed.

Regards, Dave.

Another nice .22lr added to your collection! I'm envious of your collection of rim-fires and your ammo stash.
All I seem to find is bulk Win & Rem, etc.…none of the quality stuff to try in my bolts.

I have one as well. Had it for over 20 years. It will be the last .22 that I ever get rid of.
It will shoot fingernail-sized 10-shot groups @ 25 yds with the open sights.

Thanks for the kind comments!

I have one more inbound as well....an older Mossberg [c.1948] a near-pristine 46M [full length mannlicher stock]

Most of those older Mossys shoot very well, and it is a complement to my 42M and 151M.

Regards, Dave,

Had to do some mental arithmetic......................I've had mine for almost 30 years, not 20.
It actually started life as a Model 470, but the receiver cracked from using Stingers. I had to get a new receiver (from Century International when they were still in Montreal). I ended up with a model 525 receiver with the larger ejection port and vented on the left side of the receiver so crud doesn't build up so much. I still have the old "CIL" stamped receiver.

About 5 years ago I got an Italian-made clone of the rifle from a Gunnut. I paid $100 and got 2 mags with it. The Italian mags fit the Anschutz/CIL, but the Anschutz mags won't work in the Italian rifle. Still a good deal..............the mags sell for upwards of $80 each (if you can find them).

One thing to watch out for Dave..................Don't use Remington ammo in it. I had 2 extractors blow off from crud building up in the chamber and rounds not seating fully. Blew the rim out and took the extractor with it. Parts are extremely hard to find. The last time it happened, the gunsmith had to make an extractor from scratch.

I luv the vintage full-size 22lr military trainer bolts! There's always a spot in my cabinet for the day I find the right one. My Mossberg 44US(B) came close but I can't seem to shoot peeps very good. The search goes on….
Eagleye, where do you find those fine rifles?
