CIL primers

A friend gave me a bunch of old cil primers. Among them small and large pistol primers. Anyone know what they are equivalent to? I don't think they had magnum small pistol primers back in the day did they? Would just use them for 125pf loads so not looking for lots of speed.

I've used them extensively in my rifle (.308 and .303) and never had a failure. Maybe for magnums it's a different story, but I love 'em.

CIL [Canadian Industries Ltd] Made some of the best primers of the day.

Clean, consistent and dependable.

I still have about 1000 8½'s [LR] and 2000 8½M's [LRMags]

Sounds good. Slight differences in primers are of no concern to me in rifles or ruger revolvers. Just wanted to check the small pistol primers aren't known to be overly hot or something. Will back my 9mm cast loads down a grain and see what happens.

CIL had a technology sharing deal with Remington. If I had to guess, I would say they are similar to Remington primers.
