Picked up some CIL primers at auction yesterday. Anyone have a chart showing the CIL # to intended use? Most of what I will have are 8 !/2. Haven't picked them up yet. Intended use may be indicated on packaging?
Thanks

My understanding is that CIL had a technology sharing agreement with Remington. i would use the CIL 8-1/2 primers in any recipe where Remington 8-1/2's are indicated. Standard large rifle.

CIL 8½ are Large rifle standard primers. 8½M are the magnum variant. I still have a couple thousand of the two.
Cleanest primer you will ever use. Dave.

Remington 8½ ???????? Sure you're not thinking 9½?
And they are constructed entirely differently. The anvil is a unique design
in the CIL. D.

Yup, I'm down to my last thousand standard a a few hundred magnum CIL primers. They are on the hot side and as mentioned very clean burning with the older powders I have on hand. I use them almost exclusively with W856 which is very close to H450.

Anyone else find the Large Pistol, No. 2 1/2 to be oversized? After 2 being completely flat after being seated, the rest went back into the box. I'd already used cci, and winchester that day and they all turned out as the should.
