CIL Vs. BRNO?

I'm looking at getting a decent used sporter rimfire. Primarily for just plinking but also to shoot sporter class silhouette. I've found three that I like the looks of, all between $300 and $375 plus shipping.
Two are BRNO #2, I really like the looks and feel of the action on these but I'm wondering if they will be as accurate and have as nice of a trigger.
The third is a CIL 310 (Anschutz 1416 I believe). I have not handled one of these but a search seems to say that people who have them really like them.
I've heard both good and bad on the 64 action, but then again there are lots of people out shooting them.

Is it too close to call? Would it come down to condition and which has the nicest piece of wood?

I personally would go for the Brno. They are excellent quality guns and plenty accurate too.

Any real solid reasons you'd go for the BRNO?
I do love the way the actions look on the BRNOs, very like a centerfire and that makes me think they are strong. Plus the ergonomics are the same. Those European stocks are also really attractive.

Mags are much easier to get for the BRNOs as well aren't they?

All the older BRNOs use an 11mm dovetail correct? Are there decent rings avilable for these?

Of the 2 BRNOs I'm looking at one has had quite a bit of smithing done. To the extent that the sights have been machined-off, the action bedded and the trigger worked down under a pound. Sort of like an old-school American.
I don't think I'd ever use the open sights but I know the value would be pretty badly affected down the road. How much do you loose with such modifications? On the up side, the wood has really nice, dark grain.

I'm still waiting for pics of the other two rifles.

I like the action of the Brno model 2 better then the Anschutz 64 action. That said I like the Anschutz 54 action even better then the Brno's.

The original Model 2 was made from 1946 – 1957 and has a 16mm dovetail. When Brno handed their rimfire line over to CZ in the mid 60's CZ put together some Model 2's with Brno spare parts and most of these seem to have an 11mm dovetail. I have a 1974 and a 1977 proofed #2 with 11mm dovetails. Then CZ started making their own Model 2E, followed by the 452-2E and the ZKM 452-2E. The newer 452 magazines will fit the Brno #2's.

Hunter class silhouette allows for an adjusted trigger down to a minimum of
2lb. As far as suitability for silhouette shooting, either FA will work,but you will shoot better with the one that fits you best. This, unfortunately, is something that you have to experience and is difficult to appreciate when buying a rifle without a 'hands on' feel.
 
I've been researching on rimfirecentral quite a bit. The only problem is that each forum likes their own product the best :D
I've seen pictures of two of the rifles so far. The CIL seems to have the nicest wood and finish. I'm not having much luck getting a picture of the one in the shop (and it's the most money). They do rate it VG though.
The CIL appears to have a more scope friendly stock but I love the looks of the BRNO foreend.

Grant, CIL 310 came in quite a few varations, mine has a monti carlo stock,nice checkering, slender snable tip fore end like the brno model 2, also has a high Cheek piece, three way adjustable trigger.
I also have a brno mdl 4, So i know what quality Brno firearms are like.

IMO the CIL offers a nicer trigger(mine is adjusted to 20 ounces), handling is excellent, fit and finish is also second to none.

That said, accuracy of both firearms are pretty much equal with quality ammo that have been tested for each rifles taste.

I've had my CIL for over 30 years now and it still one of my favorites!
