Citori Field vs Cynergy Classic Field

I just noticed that Browning is offering a $150 US rebate on shotshells purchased with a new Citori until December 31.just a little more encouragement to buy a Citori.

The Cynergy has $400.00 worth of accessories including a fitted and soft gun case as well as a $100.00 cheque which evens out the price on both

I also can't get a Beretta O/U to feel right... but Brownings work for me so I stick with them.
The fore ends of the Citoris look clunky, yet I prefer them to the slender Beretta fore-stocks for some reason. Maybe I swing the Browning more smoothly or something?

I just got another Browning from Clay at Prophet River as well... a Citori Satin Hunter field gun.

If the 20gauge XS Skeet wasn't ported,(everything in the Browning specs indicate that it is ported just like the 12 gauge)it would be my first choice. It fits perfectly has the high rib that I like, and is heavier than the Citori Field. It also appears to have a rubber butt pad instead of the hard plate used on the 20 gauge Citori Field.Unfortunately the porting rules it out,and the light weight of the 20 gauge Citori Field does the same.

I know little about shotguns and I'm still trying to understand the difference between a skeet gun and a field gun. Now there is another component that seems to make a difference - whether the gun is ported or not.

What is porting and how does it make a difference?

Compare the stock measurements on the Browning site, you will see a difference with Citoris.

Porting reduces recoil and muzzle lift during recoil, but it also increases the noise level to the shooter.

????

They are both great guns but having said that, the citori is way heavier with a much larger reciever, nice to shoot tough to carry all day, cynergy is a champ, light and pretty
