Citori Trap Model Question

Hey All

Just came into possession of a new Browning Citori XT Trap Gold with Adjustable Comb that, after tweaking the settings, fits me like a glove. Even have a full set of Diana Grade chokes en route.

One question though, is the XT Trap Gold a 525 or 625 Citori?

The action is a plain jane Citori. The "XT" typical means the gun has a high rib. "Trap" has a high or straight comb, with adjustable feature in you're case. "Gold" or "Golden" means it has better than average wood as well as embellishment to the reciever compared to the regular Citori versions.

Originally they were introduced as an XT in Golden Clays Grade. The Golden Clays Grade had the gold inlaid engraved scene of a game bird transitioning in flight into a clay target. You had a choice of either standard style(parallel)stock with an adjustable comb or non-adjustable Monte Carlo style stock. Then Browning introduced the "Golden Clays" Grade with the standard parallel style stock with adjustable comb with a factory installed Gracoil ( model 15-GC-LP by Graco) recoil reduction system that offers adjustable LOP and multiple recoil pad angle/height adjustment. That model had it 's name shortened to XT Gold Trap. The Golden Clays and Gold Trap also have either Grade V(5)or Grade VI(6)wood ( more figure) than a standard XT Trap which had Grade IV(4) wood. 2013 was the final year of production for the XT Gold Trap. All XT's regardless of Grade were modelled on the 90's and newer Citori receiver. They do not fall into the 625 or 725 series guns. The XT replaced the Citori Plus which IMO was a gun that should have been continued. The Plus had a higher rib with full adjustability enabling you to set your pattern centre anywhere from 3" to 12" above your POA. As well the the adjustable comb on the plus had better adjustability enabling some very fine tuning for stock fit. I had two of the Plus models at one time. An O/U with 30" barrels and a combo with a 34" top single barrel and 30" O/U barrels. I sold them in hopes of acquiring a Plus in a Golden Clays Grade but they are few in number and I have not come across one for sale since 2005!! I like my XT Gold I have now but I would like to have that adjustable POI rib. It made the gun.

I think you should send it right to me ,I am a good gun inspector and will find out all you need to know about said shotgun ,I will be able to tell you how it works how many rounds you can put threw it in one year safely ,and any other info you may want to know ,this exam may take a few years and is totally free of charge ,you will not even need to pay shipping . many folks value my findings and find them very interesting and brings pieces of mind knowing that thy had a great shotgun ,,pleased to be of assistance .....Dutch ps she is a sweet shotgun enjoy
 
Anyone know what type of finish Browning used on the XT Wood? The one I had got a couple of normal dings and instead of showing the normal "dent in Wood look".

Anywhere around the dent the finish got kind of Foggy looking almost impossible to repair.

Bullet proof Guns though.
