Civilian marksmanship program

If it's anything like the PRA here, it's set up in a way that makes it impossible for anyone but shooters of a particular dying discipline to be put at the head of it.

Get a bunch of your buddies, join the APRA, start going to meetings, get on the BOD and change it? :)

That was tried.
There was a point that we were not only holding a Service Rifle program that followed the old DCRA matches 1 - 12, but modelling the 'gunfighter' program to develope a well attended CQB competition and a DCRA Precision Rifle program as well.
The old guard within the APRA (those that call themselves the Alberta Fullbore Rifle Association) helped by the remainder of the APRA including the BTSA and Swiss Club Tell, decided that sharing the 800m range was not in their interest and killed the CSRA and service shooting within the organization.

Another group within the province has an opportunity to start it up and take over the PRA status and affiliate with the DCRA if they so choose.

In other news the US CMP has just announced that optics to 4 power will now be allowed to shoot alongside irons in competition.
I like most people with a grasp on reality expect military participation to increase and records to fall.

I expect the NRA to follow suit (it may take years but will happen) as I know they were talking about it back in 2010.
