i know there are rifles in states that are called TIGR, basically a look alike or a civilian version of SVD, are they restricted/non-restricted or prohibited here in Canada ? thanks in advance, dont know where to find info. it is based on an AK rifle, but comes semi originally and used as a hunting rifle in states, and not from AK family.

AK-esque rifles are especially evil in Canada. With the exception of the valmet hunter, anything even remotely associated with the AK has been prohibited. Even rifles that don't have the same internals or mechanism of operation (ie. the SVD).

.....and thus starts another headache as an intelligent, responsible Canadian tries to make sense of our beloved firearms law.

Two of my favorite guns.... Both, Non-Restricted, and Not for Sale.

Keep an eye on the EE. They come up from time to time. The only SVD part that fits it is the magazine. Would not be too hard to fit the POSP scope to it.

whats EE ? sorry i'm new. have you seen them for sale before - do u remember the price ?

thanks

I looked around for this Berkut 2m1, I found only a bit of conversations in message boards..
no pics or anything..

does anyone happen to have a photo of the thing?
I'm intrigued..

Here's some shots of the Berkut (target was shot from a rest at 100 yds using Prvi Partisan 7.62x54r):
