Just a reminder to check out this new upstart if you are in the market for a mag tube clamp for your 870..

I ordered the basic one with the rail and quick detachable sling mount and will post some pics when it arrives.

They are on sale this month to kick things off.

I wonder if this "new upstart" paid all the fees to register with the state department to be able to export? I guess you'll let us know if you get a product or a little note saying thanks for the donation.

I guess I will.
I sent him an email this morning.
On his website he mentions contacting him about international orders.

It's quite possible that these accessories are not considered gun parts.

the guy has been around a while, he has soe missues and was off the map a while, said when he got it backtogeather he would be doing it right this time.
If i remmber right he left alot of people hanging orver at shotgunworld.
but his clamp is very nice.
He does not have an export lic, he was allready asked buy the peopel at brownells.
I have a contact there so i asked.

Thanks for the info BBB.

Does everything shotgun related need an export permit?
yes and no, the company must have an export permit, but not eveything it ITAR rated.
IE endine makes a recoil buffer, for MESA Tactical, it can be exported as a set for a shotgun , but if shipped on its own its an ITAR rated item as it "could be" use of an assault type gun.
This comes direct from MESA.
The $100 rule still applys.

Hi. Actually, I have never been in contact with Brownells. I don't know who your contact is, but they lied.

Nobody was left hanging either. I filled all orders that were paid for. I stopped making the clamps for a number of reasons. Mostly because I couldn't get anyone to make them correctly and I didn't have the time to do it myself. I got ripped off severely by a few people who made a bunch of crap. Unfortunately I paid up front and got screwed. I still got my product out because I redid each one personally. I got tired of dealing with shops I couldn't trust and didn't want my name associated with that so I stopped making them.

I left Michigan in the fall of 2007 because my plant decided to move my job to Mexico. Those were my issues. After the last of the clamps were completed and shipped, I took a job in Texas for an aircraft manufacturer doing CNC work. I am a journeyman tool and die maker as well. I dusted off this project that I actually started in 2005. I finished the CAD work, applied for my patent in February 2009 and have started the manufacturing process. Today, these are made in Michigan at a shop I actually worked for so I know the owner and trust the work. I even had samples made to make sure and they were excellent. When I worked there, they didn't have a cnc machine or I would have had them do it the whole time.

Now I'm back and now you know a little more about me. By the way, I am also a Canadian Citizen!:canadaFlag:

By the way, I do ship out of Canada as well as the USA.

There shouldn't be anyone pissed off at Brownells since I've never dealt with them or even contacted them. If someone was PO'd on SGW or ARFcom, not much I can do if they don't tell me. I don't recall reading anything about it on those forums either, which is where they would vent if there was a problem. Don't know what to tell you about that.
