Hi All,

I am just trying to get clarification. (I am 99.9% sure you are allowed to do this though) Classic division doesn't list pinning the grip safety or deactivating the grip safety as a permitted modification. I am wondering if you can do this considering I have talked to some people who believe that you can't.

Thanks

Of course you can pin your grip safety in classic division; but what good is having a bunch of aliases on an internet board tell you that you can?
Are you going to present a printout of this page to whoever is telling you that you can't?

It would be much wiser to have an email from someone with an actual name within the IPSC Canada / IPSC New Brunswick Officials that you can present to the people who are telling you no.

So...email your S/C!!! ;)

No plans on presenting anything. I just wanted confirmation for myself. I appreciate the responses from everyone. Thanks!

You pin the grip safety on a 1911, because sometime if shooting a "high thumb" grip on a 1911, it can cause you NOT to put enough pressure on the grip safety enough to disengage it, therefore the shot does not go off.

i know several competitors shooting 1911's that have the grip safety pinned in such a way. Myself included.
