Clay from Prophet River

Guess I will jump on this band wagon too. I have bought a couple rifles from Clay as well as a few acc's this year. Excellent to deal with and to talk to.

Didn't know or think to ask about his 'lay away' deals!!! Could spell trouble!! I already buy enough guns in a year!!
 
I have a problem with Clay.

Every time I go there I buy at least 1 more Leupold scope.

Last time it was 2, and he brought another one to my house.

He is way too easy to deal with, and goes the extra mile.

Damn him :D
 
Just had another fantastic experience with Clay -- bought some parts off of him which turned out to be defective (totally not his fault; was a manufacture thing). I let him know, and he had me hooked up on the phone with the senior customer service rep for the company in question 10 minutes later. He called me back about 2 hours after that just to make sure the manufacturer had taken good care of me, and offered that if they hadn't that he'd be happy to.

I haven't got customer service like that since I left the U.S. I can rarely get most places to return my calls when I'm trying to buy something from them -- never mind over a warranty issue. Two thumbs WAY up!!!
 
i was working in his town before christmas when a rifle i ordered came in. he invited me over to his house one evening to pick it up, and wow! his phone didn't stop ringing the whole time i was there, and he took every call.

i appreciate his service, have bought several firearms from him and hope to get more, but i will never call him after hours. you gotta give the guy a few hours of peace.

that being said, he has phoned me in the evening to give me updates on orders, so maybe he brings it on himself:)
 
The only experience with him is an email I sent before Christmas about an import I wanted to do. I did not hear anything back from him. I went elsewhere.

I sent him some questions regarding the same thing at Christmas time, his response was almost immediate. Very friendly, had lots of good advice and was willing to help anytime I was ready.
 
I've bought 2 rifles from him in the past year. Top shelf guy... now if he could only bring in some Winchester Model 70's.... :rolleyes:

My experience (previously posted, but here it is again anyway):

I bought a Ruger Frontier LSS in 338 fed from Clay, and a VXIII 2.5-8X36 to match. Both came in in no time, but the rings supplied with the gun wouldn't work for that scope. Clay had to order an entire BOX of factory rings to get the one ring I needed..so he did. :) On top of that he sent it out to me to make sure if fit before I sent payment.

Great rifle, great scope, great price, GREAT service.

That pays off for sure.....I can say absolutely that I have sold 6 rifles for them since that experience.....and won't hesitate to send more over.
 
I am glad the Prophet River site is offline right now,it was costing me money every time that I looked at it.:runaway:
After buying four Coopers,a Citori 12/20 combo set,and a Sako Varmint from Clay,in just over a year,I have pretty much restocked my gun locker with the bare essentials.At least,I am not alone,as friends of mine have gotten into the spending spree,and are also buying guns from Clay.
Clays prices are great,but the customer service is in a class of it's own,and I say that after dealing with a few other dealers who also treat their customers very well.
 
Just got back from Clays on Sunday. So sorry WSS and P&D, when you could't or wouldn't get me that Ruger Alaskan 416 that I just had to have, Clay found one with a phone call and I had it in a week. And those Coopers are nice, I am telling everyone I know about them. Thank you Clay for giving 1 hour of a very busy Sunday to accomodate me and send off a very happy customer.That 416 was my birthday present.
 
I was just over. Picked up my #1 in 475 LIM. They are unpacking a bunch of nice stuff, has more of these and in 460, M77 compacts in 7.62X39 and CZ's in 222! Whsat a bunch of eye candy. Had to get out before my credit card was maxed out. :eek:

found me a 375 Ruger LH very easily the deal and discussions were smooth. Clay is a top notch guy even for the non very good english speakers ...
