I purchased a scope recently from Clay which was painless and a very different from another sponsor of this site. In the case of Clay I rang on a Friday,, he confirmed and checked he had the scope in stock and I had the scope on the Wednesday the following week. I had purchased a scope the previous week from the other sponsor and they had confirmed that they would get it from the wholesaler within two days and send it to me. After two weeks I rang them and they had no trace of the order. The next day they rang me back and said the scope was back ordered and I have heard nothing since then. I understand things do go wrong and the staff may not have been experienced, however I find it unacceptable that I should be billed for the total costs of the scope with no delivery date, since I believe the usual practice is to bill when the product is shipped. The lesson I leaned from this is next time I want a scope , rifle or shotgun I will contact Clay first!
It is nice to see positive feed back on buying. I think most of the time we only see the negative comments. In the past couple of months I have dealt with Cabelas and found that the people that I dealt with were helpful and went out of there way to try and satisfy any concerns that I had on my back ordered Guide Gun (which is not billed for until shipped). I was also in Wholesale Sports in Kamloops a couple of weeks ago and again found the sales person very helpful and knowledgeable, which if you read some of the posts re Wholesale Sports in the forum would seem an impossibility!.
