I chit you not. My wife suggested we buy a clay thrower as our 1st anniversary gift for our selves. But I'm not sure about what to buy. I've done some research but still clear as mud. We want a remote thrower that will throw 2 clays at a time that we can load up 50+ clays. Our budget is $1000. Did I mention I love my wife. Any suggestions?

A remote thrower launching 2 clays at a time for $1000 is a tough one. I have a 3/4 #### Lincoln Falcon with a sit on base. It has a double arm that shoots a high and low target. I also have a Atlas Patriot 12 volt with a wireless remote release but it has only one arm. Check out the Atlas, Lincoln and Promatic web sites. Maybe you can extend your budget a little to get what you want.
If any thing find a used one for 200 bucks and use te rest of the money on something for her. You want to be married many more years right. First year marriage anniversary is like first year dating. Remember that ? Did you say oh let's get a skeet thrower. Heck no you did something for her. So as much as he's being a good supportive wife and saying that's what she wants. Trust me it's not. Don't be so foolish

Lol I understand your cause for suspicion, but you don't know my wife. Lets start with my wife is a hunter. Small game, big game and waterfowl it doesn't matter. Her family are huge on hunting and fishing. This is a true outdoor Canadian girl. She owns an xbolt 270wsm, a maxus and some other browning 22 I can never remember the name of. We have a large browning safe she picked out. We are also currently looking at a toy hauler. a second hand one because we gonna use and abuse it. It was her idea. She's been trying to get me to agree to buy one for two years now. Now that I'm finished paying off a quad and a truck I can afford to. So no trap and hell yeah I put a ring on it.don't be so dumb!!! She says that but that's not what she means.

Alright but do your a favour. Buy her something specail on top. Unrelated like a bracelet or what have you. Even tho she's into guns and stuff she's still a girl at heart. Never forget that my friend. We are just looking out for each other if this forum. And question for you. Do you have the property to shot on? You could make a trap house and get a used feild quality thrower for under a thousand. A buddy mine had a battery operated 599 dollar throwing from bass pro and it sucked. He returned it. Anyways that's just a random story. Hold on to te receipt!
Bracelet....who do you think bought the guns for her lol. It happened the same way every time. The season was coming she was looking at a firearm she wanted and I asked how much. Come back later handed her a case and said merry Christmas. Lol I can't keep secrets from her. But yeah I take good care of her and she still gets her girly gifts. Actually last year I bought her coat in duckblind camo, she picked it out for duck hunting, and she loves it. She wears it even to work.
And to answer your question no I don't have property to build a trap house. We can shoot clays at our local club, but we want to be able to do this as a family at one of the sand pits. We keep receipts lol. Don't suppose you know the model of that thrower that didn't work out for your friend do you?
I used a friends electric thrower a few times last year, cheap, but only throws singles. However it can throw them fast enough you can keep several birds in the air. Put an electric wobble on it and would be much better.
It was only a few hundred dollars. You could actually buy 2 with wobble and still be under $1000
The trick with it was to never let it run out of clays, and to not "drop" the clays onto the stack. The first 2 birds were difficult but after that, ran smoothly. We put about 500 clays (4 different brands) through it with no problem except for the noted first couple.
I remember looking at some bottom line, expensive machines, and a couple of them could throw singles but interval was 0.6 seconds. But those machines were almost $1.6k.

I bought 2 Do-All White Quail's and put wobblers on both of them and put the remote on them so I can throw pairs. It works well. It takes some tinkering to get it to not break clays. Once tuned nicely I can go out and shoot a box of 135 with about 10% breakage (or less). It has some problems with high angle shots - the clays don't always drop nicely. Could probably tune it a little more to help but just a heads-up on someone that owns Do-Alls. I like them - but they require a little TLC.
happykal, read as many reviews as possible before buying Champion or Do All. Some work fine but most require tinkering to get them to function. As some here have already mentioned your best bet is 2 low cost machines. The Lincoln and Atlas I have are more expensive but they are very reliable and the customer service is top notch. Nothing ruins your shooting experience more than malfunctioning equipment. Best of luck.

So if you want to do a little something extra for her, do what I did for my wife on our one year; write her a letter telling her exactly how much she means to you, superimpose it over a cool picture and get it made into a puzzle for her to put together. She puts the puzzle together, reads the letter, and then has a great 'oh my god he's so sweet' story to tell any non firearms people she talks to...
