does anyone have suggestions on a relatively clean .22 ammo in bulk? i understand that many find the dynapoint to be excessively dirty, especially in semi's. im picking up my savage 64 later today and was wondering about feeding it. i had thought of dynapoint as it is inexpensive but i dont want to foul the gun unnecessarily.

any suggestions?

thanks

I've been shooting the 40gr AEs lately. ($21/500) The cheapest stuff I can find here in winnipeg are Winchesters @ $20. And, for gophers I like the federal 525s ($23/500)

My current fave is Winchester 333 from Walmart (333/$11.50). Copper-washed, clean, pretty accurate, not many duds. It was $10 a box but the price has just jumped up recently. The AE solid point is good too, but that is pretty scarce on the ground around here these days.

I find most of the winchester to be dirty. I shoot the federal 525 which is much cleaner and available almost everywhere.

Federal ammo is pretty good stuff. I haven't tried the hyper velocity stuff I bought yet though.

I've had great luck with the American Eagle stuff. Cheap and accurate. I've burned through about 10 bricks on different guns with no misfires/hangfires and reliable feeding on the semiautos.

Blazer. It's slightly more expensive than the fed or AE, but, it is of far higher quality. Not a single dud or light load in the last brick I shot. Compare that to the federal 525 packs where every 2nd round has half the power. (okay a bit of a exageration but it is very inconsistant)

Are you sure you'd prefer a clean ammo, to an accurate ammo?

Federal runs pretty clean and is accurate. I would say any CCI is probably the cleanest from my experience amd they are very consistent. I don't shoot match grade ammo as gophers prefer beer to champagne in these parts.:p
