Clean burning 22 ammo?

In your experience, which ammo is the cleanest burning? I am thinking of how quickly gunk builds up in my stainless Ruger 10/22. I use Federal copper plated bulk ammo. The gunk build up is not an issue in my bolt actions but semis are prone to a fast fouling.

Powder fouling is unavoidable. All .22 ammo is going to foul up a blowback operated action due to the design of the rifle. I think the thing to do is clean your rifle properly after every 500 rounds or so, and not worry about it. Be more concerned with which ammo shoots more accurately and reliably instead.

Going very light on the oil helps keep the action cleaner and less "gumming up"...
The oil seems to catch and trap all the fouling.
I actually run both my 10/22s dry.... no oil. I find they operate better and more reliably.

yes, cleaning is a must. I will try some of the dry-lube. Arguably is provides proper lubrication with less fouling. Will try a few things and see what works.

Very true, I now run all my 10/22's dry, factory, KIDD Supergrade, and my frankensteins.... they work flawless for much longer than I need to before cleaning...
