Cleaned up SMLE

I got one of the India used SMLE's, a 1942 Lithgow.

I cleaned the stock with Murphy's Oil Soap, TSP, and a lot of scrubbing. I then gave it two coats of Linseed Oil.

The metal was pretty clean, so I gave it the usual maintenance. The bore cleaned to a mirror like shine with only a few patches.

Just wondering, did you take it appart to clean the wood? (i.e. inside as well as outside)

I took it down to clean it. Linseed oil in and out.

Yes, she will see range time. She has an Ishy screw after all.

Good job! Sometimes, it's amazing what crap can accumulate in the "insides"...
