Cleanest 223 Powder?

So who knows what the cleanest powder is to shoot from an AR15 Carbine?

VV N133 is cleanest. RL15 is pretty good. Ball powders tend to be dirty.

I, too, alway thought that ball powder was dirtier than others. But from the tests I've done with my 223, the dirtier I've found was Benchmark (extruded) and the cleanest was WC735 (ball).
If you want ball powder and clean, try WC735

Carbon fouling is not better than most. But so far the claims of copper fouling resistance seem to be correct. That being said I am not really far enough into it to have a really good feel yet.

Yup my vote here as well, has to be on the higher end of the load data. Thats true for all ball powders though.

I think ball powders in general are a bit cleaner if you wind them up to the top end of the load data. They are definitely filthy if loaded on the low end. I am down to pretty much only using WC735 anymore.

This is a general rule of thumb with all spherical powders.
Load them up - no issues.
At lower pressures, sooty, dirty, and unburned powder evident.
I burned quite a few pounds of old H870, and it was good with full power loads, but filthy if the pressures were down.
