+1 on lewis lead remover, and they are for sale in canada. In stock in several gun stores. But the brass wool suggestion works almost as well, and is cheaper. For severe leading the lewis is the king but for the small build up shown, brass wool wraped over a brush or patch should do fine. Make sure it's Brass or copper wool, NOT plated steel.

Looked for brass wool and still could not find it.. where is a good online source ?
All the online sources seems to have ridiculous pricing. Someone said they found some at the Dollarama but the ones at a location near me had the copper plated steel ones. I ended up buying a few from Wallymart in the US.
have you tried sonic cleaner?
I am cleaning my SAM commander stainless for the first time and there is fouling in the barrel near the chamber that is taking forever to remove. The entire bore is spotless except for this area.
I have soaked it in Hoppe's 9 many times and scrubbed it with a bronze brush. I have soaked it in Mpro7 gun cleaner a few times too. After each attempt, the first patch comes out dark. But at the rate it is being removed, I will be scrubbing for a while...
I had to scrub the barrel lugs and rear sight with a nylon brush to remove hardened preservative. Maybe this is a combination of the preservative and carbon fouling. Is there a more aggressive cleaner that I should use? Should I shoot it?
Yes and no. It was physically touching the buildup, but worked so slowly that I might as well not have bothered. You're right that it wasn't lead. I was making the point that it looked a lot like the buildup problem I had.
