I have about 1000 223 brass with greenish powder like covering the surface. I try to tumble it but still couldn't get rid of it. Metal polish works but I don't want to polish every single one. Any good methods? Thanks

Might be worth your while just to ditch them, particualrly if they have turned a rich brown colour. If had such brass fail.
I figured the brass was attacked chemically, or had hardenned in the extreem over time, to the point it was brittle, as when fired the brass developed little holes in the shoulder area of the case.
Granted, I was trying to fire form this particular brass, but the affect was startling. It looked like a tiny guy on the inside of the case has fired a shotgun through the case shoulder.

Decap a few and then try soaking them in 50/50 a vinegar/water solution, then cleaning them with 0000 steel wool, and then rinsing thoroughly and drying.

"...adding some brass polish..." But not Brasso. You could leave them in the tumbler for a longer time. However, the green is most assuredly oxidization. The brass has been weakened.
