Cleaning Casings in Tumbler with Stainless Steel Media.

Any of you guys used lemi shine in the Franford Arsenal tumbler and had the cases turn black with a rubber coating from inside the tumbler.
No, not since I’ve been using mine, only had two issues, one when I mixed a steel case in with brass and the other was the pins got dirty and left the brass all dirty,.

I used to wash the pins separately every so often to keep them clean.

Stopped using pins about 6 yrs ago and haven’t had an issue since.

I’ve been using powder lemishine which is not sold around here anymore. Gun
I never had the cases turn black either but my nephew did using pins, lemishine and dawn dish soap
pins need to be cleaned every so often, they get dirty as well .
A steel case messes up the brass as well

If it is the same guy I bought from make sure you trim the cases. My guy was banned but he is back selling stuff under a different name.

I haven’t had that problem yet, I always figured the soap I add cleans the pins as well. They always come out sparkling after I rinse and spin them out.

I ran a half a drum of .223 and 30-30 once fired range brass and thought I’d time my rinse and spin stage, I keep hearing how long and tedious this stage is. It took 10 min to rinse and spin pins and water out of the cases, zero pins in the cases afterwards. I dump rinse water through a dollar store strainer, which catches 95% or more of the pins. I use the whole amount that comes with the FA tumbler, what you see in the bottom of the media separator is all that’s left after the rinse into a 5gal pail.

They sit by the wood stove overnight and are dry by the time I get up the next morning.

Without wanting to change the subject,

Yesterday afternoon I put a bunch of Magnum Rifle Casings into our RCBS Vibrating Tumbler containing dry Walnut Media to tumble for 2.5 Hours. Then I got distracted and only this morning I remembered and turned the Tumbler off which worked flawlessly for over 15 Hours and Motor not warm, great.
The real surprise came that the Casings where actually even nicer and shinier (but only on the exterior surface - but not the Primer pockets) then SS wet tumbled Casings which where also shiny clean on the interior surface including Primer pockets.

Just saying, for those interested.

Cheers
