I fired about twenty riffled slugs through my Supernova. It left a gawd awful mess in the smooth barrel.

It has been mentioned (search) in several threads using a copper kitchen scouring pad wrapped around a brass brush to clean the the barrel. Will this arrangement on a power drill damage or scratch the chrome.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a lot of effort. All I do is 'bump up' the size of my brass bore brush (16 ga brush for cleaning my 20 ga; 10 ga brush for my 12 ga). Works great in both my chrome lined and standard barrels; no need to fiddle with a drill.

For badly leaded bores in my shotguns I wrap super fine steel wool on a cleaning rod and work it back and forth while chucked in my portable drill. Works great, works quick.

0000 steel wool on a brush back and forth a few times or spin it with a drill at the same time wipes out plastic build up quickly and will not harm the bore whether it is chrome lined or not...
