Merry Christmas!

I have a M305/M14 with an ARMS #18 scope mount.

What do you do to clean your rifle, now that the bolt cannot be taken out of it? Removing the mount every time is not an option, maybe once a year. Do you just do the best you can from under the receiver?

Note: used to be in the army, my rifles are clean :D

download fm23-8- the cleaning instructions are in there- unlock the trigger assembly, pull it out, and separate the receiver from the stock- the get out your cleaning kit, shove the bolt to the rear and lock it, put the rod down the barrel from the muzzle, screw on either your jag or brush, and pull back through the barrel- you clean it almost exactly the same way as the garand-then go through and do the gas system, but LEAVE IT DRY- this SHOULD have been in your manual- the factthat you have a scope mount MAKES NO NEVERMIND-and the bolt DOES come out- it just takes a few more steps

Feeling stupid

Well what do you know, it does come out. I did not see how with the mount being so low.

OK, I'll give it to myself: :stfun00b:
