Cleaning Media
I used Lyman tufnut with Rouge. Did a great job of the brass but the inside of the cases has a dusting of rouge.
How does a person get rid of the dust?

I agree with kevguy put in the used dryer sheets and go. There is no detectable dust. I also used the green treated corn meal and the insides of the cases were clean. Not as clean as the outside, but I expect that being where all combustion is taking place.
 
Princess auto walnut media. 20 bucks for 50 pounds. Add a slpash of nu finish and a dryer sheet. I am a cheap bastard though.

I have heard of plastic beads as well as the stainless. Interested to hear about it.
 
Lizard litter (walnut media) from pet land with a used dryer sheet cut into 2" squares and a small pea sized amount of nufinish car polish. Make sure you wear sun glasses when lookig directly at them.................extreamly shiny;)

The cost of purchasing a new tumbler and media is what is stopping me. It also seems from the video that it’s more work with the water and all the separating and rinsing. From the photos the brass sure is clean.My Scottish ancestry is telling me to try rice.

I guess it was a bit pricey ... around $300 for a complete set up including shipping ... but there are some definite advantages, like never having to buy media again, and brass that looks better than new ....
 
Media

I have always cleaned my brass with the primers in place. It’s nice having shiny brass on the inside but is there any advantage other than it looks nice? Cleaning brass is not one of my favorite jobs so the less time I can spend the better. For a couple of bucks a bag for white rice it’s worth giving it a try. Anyone have some info on using rice.
 
I just started using a cut-up dryer sheet in the tumbler (thanks to this site for the tip) and it does make a big difference. I've been using green corncob media and those dryer sheet chunks were totally dark green when I was done. Also don't forget to dump the tumbler once in a while and disassemble it for a thorough cleaning. Yesterday I took my Lyman apart to clean it, and it had a fair amount of stuck-on media dust. Warm soapy water, clean as new. Now I just have to run down and get some fresh media.

A couple of bucks will buy a lot of corn cob bedding at the pet store. I'd keep the rice for eating. I heard fresh-from-the-bag rice does work for the first tumble, but then absorbs moisture from the air and becomes ineffective very quickly.
