If you want things polished and sparkling like the SS (stainless steel) guys, I would also suggest an additive to cut down on the time it takes to give you those kind of results.

I use Flitz Tumble/Media Additive. I've tried Brasso, NuFinish, etc. and nothing came even close to the Flitz. I've put 10's of thousands of pistol casings through the same corn cob and walnut mix, and just an hour or two still makes them look like sparkling new. I just add a cap full of Flitz every second or third batch or so.

I can't see any reason to invest in the SS water method and new tumblers. And no way am I going to add the avoidable step of having to dry my casings before loading. And why would I care if the inside is as shiney and new looking as the outside? My powder does not care. Seriously.

Ha! I'll really freak you out now by saying I don't even clean my primer pockets for my .45 casings. I'll reload the suckers dozens of times until I can't even read the head stamp anymore without cleaning them even once! My theory is that the next primer detonation cleans up the old crud left by the previous primer detonation.

I also have coffee rings on my reloading bench that date back to the year 19XX somthing. :cool:
