Hey,
I suck at cleaning my M-4....any tips?
Should i use oil or grease?

WHERE CAN I BUY SOME CLEANING TOOLS FOR THOSE HARD TO REACH PLACES?
pipe cleaners?

Thanks,

Jon

Brownells has lots of cleaning stuff. I clean with either motor oil or CLP, motor oil is cheaper. I use small nylon brushes or let some stuff soak. When its clean I put a small coating on TW25 grease on some of the parts and put back together.

Cleaning the bolt and chamber/barrel extention is the most important. "cleaner the better unless you are one of thoughs wierdos who thinks your gun works better dirty"

DONT USE DRY LUBE "it does not work in the cold or the sand box, I know this first hand"

The best lube I found is Mil-tec or slip 2000 lube

Clean means no carbon build up and grim/dirt

Exactly run the barrel through, swab out the barrel extension and wipe off the bolt and carrier, apply the wonder lube of the month and you are good to go.

In adverse conditions I just use Shell Aero Moly Grease worked like a charm.

I have a habit of cleaning a gun once i get it......then i shoot the gun uncleaned till if fails. Just to see how many rounds it can handle!. Does anyone else do this or is that a stupid idea!
