I have been using toilet paper for the past 35 years or so. It's the same on both sides. I often use blue shop towel rolls too. I like toilet paper better. Regards, Bill.

Like Bill posted above, I also use the Blue shop towels and white Kimberly-Clarke "Wypall" shop towels.

I just cut them into little squares and they work great.

back to Leeper.........

Please, Bill, tell us you are joking about the toilet paper? Like one of the most famous Canadian gunsmiths tells us that he uses Charmin to clean both his behind and his barrels?

It's a joke, right?

PS) I have been using flanelette bed sheets for years, cut by hand to the size needed, patches anything but uniform in size.............but they work. :p

If you really want to save the planet and know someone who has got a toddler, ask if they still have their flannel baby cloths (usually 2' X 3' in size). Same material as above but usually with very cute prints.

LMAO - I've been cutting up receiving blankets for years - don't tell my wife! She hasn't noticed the back of the linen closet getting thinner...

:D

What Mystic said, x2. My wife is a quilter, so it takes no time to get that cotton flannel cut with her rotary cutter into precise 2x2 squares

Quilting wife in our house as well.
I use the cotton batting scraps that are left after. Way better than flannel. Besides, I don't get sh**t for using up her stash.

Cheers

I often use the blue shop towels for my shotgun. They actually work very well. Right now I'm using the gunslick patches that came with the cleaning kit, but I'll probably use the shop towel for the rifles when I run out of the patches.
