Cleaning Plastic Residue From Barrel

Hello All;

I hope all's well. I have a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag with a rifled barrel. For the deer season, I've been shooting Remington AccuTip sabot slugs that have a plastic tip. I've found that there is a good deal of plastic residue in the barrel. I've used Hoppes solvent and it works with a lot of elbow grease, but I was wondering if any of you had a favourite product that worked well for this application.

Butches Bore shine and Shooter's Choice seem to work a lot better on plastic than Hoppes. I would look in the muzzle loader aisle of most gun stores. I am sure there are products just for plastic.

Aerosol brake cleaner works well but be careful not to get any on the stock.

I like to just get the jagged patch into the chamber & give it a couple of blasts of the cleaner. A few strokes & most of the plastic comes out on the patch.
