Will a bronze or Jag give off a blueish color much like copper will when exposed to a cleaning solvent like Hoppes or Shooters choice. I'm having a hell of a time cleaning an Enfield No.IVMkII DCRA conversion. Everytime I run the brush through a dozen times then wet patch it she comes out solid blue. I'm on cleaning cycle 26 right now!

Yes they can and do. My bet is that your Enfeld is full of copper though. I would hit it with something like Sweet's 7.62 or a solvent specifically designed for copper.
I would suggest get a plastic brush and a nickel plated jag for playing with copper solvents.

Your likely seeing copper residue from lots of shooting with little cleaning. Stop up the muzzle with a rubber cork, fill the barrel with solvent and leave it for an hour or two. Gives the solvent time to work. Then after properly disposing of the toxic, contaminated solvent clean as per normal.
I was using some Hoppes specifically for copper fouling. Got pissed off with that so I ran a jag with some bore paste down a few times then cleaned with the Hoppes again. It seems to have done the trick, I'll shoot it like this and see how it does.
I have been doing a lot of cleaning as of late and have found the Bronze brush was not giving false blue patchs on any other rifle so I think the rifle was really fouled up. She certainly shines now, I'm afraid to run my brush down it again though so I'm gonna leave well enough alone for now. The proof will be in the grouping.

Have you tried the Wipe -Out bore cleaning foam. It is formulated specifically to clean copper fouling and works.

JB bore paste is sold by Brownells. It's pretty good stuff, but I certainly would not use in on a regular basis. As a first time clean of an otherwise un-cleanable military surplus rifle - works great.

I typically only use bore paste on a new rifle blank once it's been cut. Helps to polish the rifling a bit. I haven't tried the foam but I think I'll grab some this week. I seem to be low on cleaning solvents now. =-)

That's also a very good wash down if you ever shoot corrosive ammo.
Rinse well and swab with a light oil afterwords ...

I have been using JB continuosly as a cleaner - 10,000 rounds over many years - NO premature bore wear. It is safe to use as a sole cleaner. -Takes everything out - does NOT harm steel. - A jar lasts for years - And using it wont make flourescent green mushrooms grow on your liver. Saw a couple of jars at Ellwood Epps last week. Ive had my 2 jars for over 20 tears - the first one is about 3/4's gone.

Each cleaner out there goes after one thing and leaves something else. Any time you switch cleaners you will see a whole bunch of crud on the first cleaning. I try to switch back and forth between cleaners for that reason. The only thing I do not use is the abrasive stuff ...

I have a .308 that was badly coppered like that when I got it, and it took for ever to get the copper out. if you shine a little flashlight in the muzzle you can see the copper quite clearly, and it will all go away if youwork at it long enough.
