Cleaning question

I opened up my vibratory case cleaner, filled it up with rcbs formula 2 corn media, and threw in 39 pieces of Winchester super x brass I had. I turned it on and let it run for about 4 and a half hours and this is the results...

About half are nice and fairly shiny and the other half not so much. Should I try using walnut as a media or did I not leave them in long enough?

Another question I have is, is there any problem using 2 different types of brass? I have 38 once fired Winchester super x and 26 once fired Winchester premium nickel coated brass. Would using them both creat inconsistencies?
Any suggestions on cleaning the nickel coated brass?

If you want consistency, don't mix brass. If you are using loads that are max in your rifle, changing brass can cause pressure issues.

Did you add any kind of polish into the media? and there needs to be more brass then media to work well in it.

I use the Lyman treated green cob cleaning media. 4hrs tumbling and my brass would look like factory stuff!

leave it in here all day and add some polish like the once a year car polish from canadian tire.
I dont even check my brass before 10 hours.

10 Hrs!?? Are you serious? What kind of tumbler and media are you using?

using walnut i used to leave it run over night but since switching to corn cob i run it for about 4-5 hours comes out super shiny!

corncob, all night, not in a hurry anyway, its clean the next morning.

That brass is fine the way it is. Brass doesn't need to be shiney. Just clean. Shouldn't require more than a few hours either. Ten or all day or over night is daft, unless it's come out of a mud puddle. It does look like you've got a bit of copper leakage. Nothing to worry about though. No polish is necessary either.

all night is just because I start em after work, at 7-8, and I will not get up at 12 to stop the machine. I stop it the next morning.
Plus, they are cleaner, and I have not been waiting for them anyway.

That seems to work much better than the corn.
I never bothered adding the polish that came with it. So I can add liquid car wax in with the media with no issues?

Another question concerning different brass, if I find a load that works well with one type of brass it wouldn't be safe to go ahead and use it with a different type of brass? Maybe I'm a little confused here, I read through the book a few times now and think I know what I'm doing. Just need to find a better table to set everything up on.
