Its pretty easy to run up the numbers of rounds when firing .22 and I'm wondering what is the best routine for keeping accuracy up . Just saw some threads with pics of one-hole groups . Does this dictate more frequent cleaning ?
I haven't shot enough to say accuracy has declined due to fouling , and clean occasionally at best . Have seen others cleaning at the range between sets , usually CF benchrest.
realize there is probably a difference whether lead or plated rounds too , and some rifles may need fouling shots .

What works best for you high-volume one-hole seekers ?

Don't think there are too many high volume bench rest guys..

I don't clean my CZ American 22 very often and I shoot 100-150 a session maybe 8 times a season.

Run a patch or two though the bore and wipe down after 400-500 that's it.

If I thought I would get better than 1-1.5 moa @100 I'd clean it more often, but I'm satisfied with my groupings..

People clean .22s?! Just kidding. When I bring one home from the range or hunting, I drag a Bore Snake through it a couple of times and wipe down the metal. That's it. If this slack regime has had a negative effect on them I haven't noticed. God I love .22's.

I clean the bore every fall, before putting my 22lr rifles away for the winter. I use a proper one piece rod, and bore guide, just like with an other rifle. The only difference, s that I don't use a copper solvent. Cleaning once a year for me, results in a few thousand rounds between cleanings.

Funny how the little buggers get abused and used
Just starting some regular shooting nights and plan on testing some ammo , so will be cleaning regularly for a good baseline . Then they will likely get shot until the accuracy drops , if .

Must be the dnd institunalization. I wipe down and toss a few oil patches down the barrel at the range. Then come home and full strip and clean my guns after every trip, only exception is my 870, I just wipe it down after every use then strip it after about 250-300rnds.
