Cleaning rust spots in sks

Hey all I have a couple sks rifles, both 1954 Tulas non refurb, I stored them in the rifle cases and now they have some spotting, not bad but it makes them not so pretty, any advice on what to do to make them shiney again? I have to oil them again, is why I ask

Try rubbing the rust spots with oil and 0000 steel wool, that usually removes any light rust and doesn't harm the bluing. If the gun is one of the BBQ painted ones do the same but be careful how hard you rub as to not rub through the paint.

Ok thanks I'll have to do that, and thank God it's not the BBQ paint ones, they are all blued, I need to touch up I think, it's got spots worn thru

I've found that Flitz polish works well on light surface rust, without messing up the bluing.
