Depends on a lot of things. Caliber, rounds fired, moly or naked, factory or custom barrel, powder used ect. On average my guns will get a good cleaning every 40 rounds when practical. (10 for barnes monometals) Stainless and CM barrels foul about the same so there is really no difference with a stainless barrel.
When I am varmint shooting I typically go 50 rounds and then clean it, it gives the barrel a chance to cool off and restore accuracy. I have never done a test to see how many rounds before accuracy drops off but ideally I would wait till that happens and then clean.
Right now it has about 20 rounds down the tube from last session, I was to lazy to clean it after I got rained out.
Thats what I like about stainless barrels, less care needed. My blued barrels I make sure to wipe all fingerprints and rain drops off before storing but the stainless I just pack up.
I don't differentiate in how/when I clean my stainless or chrome moly barreled hunting rifles. In wet weather I clean more frequently, but seldom exceed 50 rounds between cleanings in any case. I have not put a bore brush in a rifle barrel in years, and prefer to allow solvents to break down the fouling and a cotton patch on a jag to remove it. Wipeout is a great product for my purposes.
I clean my guns as I use them, stainless and blued. Just me though, I know guys who clean them once a year if they're only firing 3 shots to check zero and then going hunting.
