Well we all know how useful a bore snake is at the range until we get home to give our guns a real cleaning but how do you clean the snake itself? Im sure it gets pretty filthy after timely use. Can you throw it in the washing machine?

 You didn't read the instructions, did you?

From the instructions -

"'The BORESNAKE' can be washed easily by hand. Band securely or use wash bag for machine cleaning. Air dry.'"

That means DON'T put it in with the whites, Mummy will kill you:mad:

RePete.

I'd just clean it in the laundry sink, and if that didn't work... hell, get another.

With my luck, I'd get all that residue jammed up in the washing machine and it'd get in my clothes next time I put a load of laundry in.

Try a can of automotive brake cleaner .
The store I'm at sells it for $2.49 a can .
It'll damn near clean anything from anything , but it is flamable .
and it's a lot cheaper than all the wifes stained clothes from that load of laundry you destroyed . Trust me .

I have cleaned my snakes in the kitchen sink with some dish detergent, just playing around with it in the water. Then rinsed it out really good afterwards. It took maybe a couple of minutes. I just don't let it get really dirty so that seems to work fine.

Then again I am a single guy, and maybe your wife doesn't like snakes in the sink.
