After a while, the inside of the polisher gets covered in green goo.
What's your trick to clean it out?
Me, it's dish detergent and elbow grease.
I figure, it being cleaned out now and then may help the media last longer.

If you put a used sheet of fabric softener (left over from the clothes dryer) - reduces dust and build up inside the tumbler.

Hey, I'm glad you asked. I never thought to ask here.

Kudo's to you. Do you think we should try the dishwasher (when the lady's at work)?

Don't do that, the tumbler gets contaminated with lead salts from the primer. Cleaning it in the same place that you clean your dishes is a bad idea!

"...covered in green goo..." Quit putting in whatever else you're putting in it. If it's green it's likely copper from the brass. Brass doesn't need to be shiny. Just clean.

I have read articles on cleaning "media". Apperently you can wash media with soap and water and it is good as new. The same article claimed that you could use the meida "wet". Havent tried it myself but it may work.

My media cleans the inside of my tumbler, maybe you should change the media before it gets so grimey. Sandblasting walnut is really cheap, cheaper than elbow grease. I haven't cleaned the inside of my tumbler in over a year and it's spotless.
