cleaning up Carcano 1941

I scored a Terni model 1941,unsanded and unworn. Sure am tempted to BLO the stock as it is so dry and open grain. I don't think this model is too special, but could BLO detract from it's value at all? Is the current going rate in 90% new condition about $325-$350? Thanks in advance

I wouldn't consider blo refinishing. It's more a maintenance task. Like cleaning and oiling the gun

Lemon oil is good dry stock, you can get it at the large Home renovation stores.

Lemon oil is also available at music stores as people use it to treat finger boards on guitars.

That said, I would treat it with RLO hand-rubbed into the wood.
