Cleaning up heavily oil laden, dark, dirty wood.

Depending on how much grease has to be removed I use one of two methods. For lots of grease and oil I put the stock in a tray of kitty litter and then put the tray and stock into a heavy duty black plastic bag. The whole works go into the car on a sunny day and get left alone for a day or two. A hatch back with the hatch window facing south makes a great solar kiln. Most of the grease and oil will flow out into the kitty litter.

For lesser jobs I use whiting and solvent. Whiting is just calcium carbonate.

A vapour degreaser is great as well but I built mine too small to fit a stock.
