I was taught by the military to clean my weapons after every use. And that teaching still sticks hard many years later. Now I read in one of the forums here that there is such a thing as overcleaning and cleaning after a single use was not necessary.
So I tried to lay off. After the first range session I managed to leave them alone (we're talking pistols here). After the second session I got antsy, and then cleaned them after the third; after 120 rounds per gun. I found them quite dirty in my opinion and had to brush the barrels to get them clean. Normally one wet patch with Hoppes followed by dry patches would do the job. So now I'm back to cleaning aftyer every outing.
Am I obsessive/compulsive or what? Do I need to be cured?
What do you do?
