The wild life is doing fine. There is enough corn and soybeans now to increase all animals populations. You want resources for wild life make it a law that all city people must have a thorn bush in the back yard. And maybe a windmill or two down town would be great as well. While we are at it maybe 90 % of their lot should have to be endangered plant and animal species. They are responsible for the well fair of the species and inspectors will be around yearly to inspect. No gardens, play grounds, decks, pools, bbqs. It might put the species at risk. If the species dies and the CA feels it is their fault lets make them play big fines. Then we could have people from the farms come in and bow hunt the back yards, sounds like paradise for city hunters as well. Think of all the nature we can bring back.

When guys start pushing ideas like this then I will help, till then stay in the city.

Nothing is static. Actually building codes in cities are changing to accommodate roof top gardens. Your point is taken with the city telling the country how to behave. I get it. The discussion was more centred on how to maintain as many woodlots as possible as population densities increase and farming practices change in rural farming areas. Not much crown land in these locales that can be managed for the public good. Species diversity is not accommodated by a soy field which I know you understand. The solution must be found while completely accommodating your property rights. On that point we agree. Not an easy path to follow.
