Clear PC?

+1... Kind of stumped me as well. LOL.

In any event, I want to try clear PC next as well. Bright reds and blues just don't make it for me.

I also want to try clear. I think humidity also plays a big part in how the powder sticks to bullets. For my first attempt I tried blue princess auto powder coat with plastic bb's and it turned out good. After a few batches I figured out not to use so much powder in the cool whip container and actually works better without the bb's because then you don't have to pick them out. Now I just put 1 tablespoon of powder in the bucket and the bullets to a line I have marked inside the container and swish for 30 seconds and pour the whole thing over a frying pan splatter screen to separate the excess powder and dump the bullets on the oven pan. I live in Edmonton and we are extremely dry here especially in the winter so I do most of my powder coating in the winter months.

Do you apply gas checks before or after PCing?

On my NOE 9.3mm mold the gas check shank is already very tight and hard to start a gas check on. PCing will increase the shank diameter and make it even more difficult to start a check. I'm inclined to try installing checks before PCing on those bullets.
 
I've done it both ways on .379 slugs and haven't had any "pop off" as of yet but some are very hard to get started after PC'ing. That was when I was cooking "base down" and getting some flashing happening...I have since connived a method to coat & cook "nose down" so flashing & excessively thick coating might not be as much of a problem.

Really, in my grand scheme of things that I have tested, I haven't noticed a benefit to "checking" a PC'd slug mind you I don't "bust the envelope" on speed, keeping them below 1600 fps. Anything upward of 2 grand or faster might very well benefit from a check.
 
I love the clear
I use black airsoft BB in a #5 container.
Even a 10 second shake coats them all very evenly.
I have found that I get some clumping of the coating after a while so I dump the coating that starts to look slightly off white. Put a teaspoon of fresh powder in and back in business.
I have put checks on after I coat because I size after.
Either way would work fine I imagine
 
I apply my gas checks after I coat my bullets. I have applied some checks before coating and the checks took the coating as well but I haven't done a side by side test to see if one shoot better than the other.

That was going to be my question. I have never powder coated, but may have to give it a try. I pretty much shoot only cast in my rifles. For plinking, I use mostly WW with a bit of lino in each time I add an ingot. I shoot mostly light loads, lube the bullets with LEE Liquid Alox. Hotter loads, I apply a bit of blue lube to the grooves with my fingers as well as a coating of LLA. Have never had leading trouble. Nearly all bullets are gas checked. 99% of my cast bullets are from LEE moulds.
