I was originally planning on purchasing a 40mm vx-II for my Savage Precision carbine and have a pair of burris xtr low rings on the way but I ended up buying a 50mm vx-II instead. (I have an EGW base on it). Just wondering if anyone has a similar set up and could comment on whether the 50mm will fit, or if im going to have to order in some mediums.

You may even require a set of high rings not just mediums.

I have a 6-18x50mmA/O on my stevens 200. It has a set of high rings. I doubt mediums will be enough when you add in the extra width of you heavy barrel.
