Fellas, i finally, just last night took the front sigt and mosto fthe rear sight off the Sako A1 .222 an now ther is no major interferrance wit hthe scope and having sights in the way.

it has me thinking, do you think the POI willl change now... but eve more so, do you think the Load could need tweaking now there is alo less weight on the barrel and no doubt the harmonics changed?

i will be re sighting an shooting that rifle in the next few days, but ive never done this and thought its worth a post, as likely there is differences

Well the poi with the iron sights will definitely change.

The scope may have a change as well if it was removed and installed during the process.

I've taken the sights completely off so the end of the barrel is unobstructed, there was a ramp, blade and hood , aswell as a blade infront of the scope end which shone light off an made vision impossible or very foggy in the sporlight with a wrong angle, this will eliminate that 100%.

im just going off the theory of 'barrel bands' and such which alter the vibration of the barrel, having this weight specifically off the barrels end , will in theory, be sure to change the harmonic changing the point of impact from its current 'zero'

its wet out today and windy real wintery so i wont be getting out shooting the gun to confirm, would be interesting topic to see what maay happen

Well Dudes, it appeared a REALLY HIGH POI . .... bunch of clicks down and its shooting nice- i didnt 'waste' ammo today just re sighted but the final 2 were almost touching.. unheard of for me typically.

helped having the 4 guns out shooting tho, 303 7-08 a 3006 an the 222, its a dream to shoot.

happy days over all but some interesting observations with poi from 100 to 200 with a few of the guns..might ask about it elsewhere

some curiositys from today though, between 100 nd 200...

100m 200m
. 222 +1 -2 -Wondering about this, is this typical 55gr in a 222 with low velocity (17.5gr ar2207) ?
30-06 +1.5 -4 fairly typical for FN 150gr (45gr ar2206h) ?

303 seems normal Bang on 100 Down -5ish at 200m............. which sort of correlates to the 30-06 load, both being 150gr bullets .....an one certainly 'lower' end of scale in power..

the 303 would be around 2500fps?
30-06 be around 2750fp ?
222 to be around 2700 also..
