If you could get a flat of 12 gauge Clever Mirage target loads for $48.00 compared to a flat of Remington Target loads for $53.00 which would you choose?

Wholesale Sports in 'Toon have Federal top guns for $44/case, can't comment on clever target loads, first I've heard of them.

Italian Sporting Goods here in Vancouver sell the clever Mirage Italian imports.

MD, not enough info. Which Mirage loads vs. which Remington loads? Both companies make a variety of competition loads, varying in price and quality.

For what it is worth, I have been shooting the Mirage "Grand'Italia" 24 gram trap loads. In my gun I find them second only to the Federal paper hull loads. The Clever shells give me very consistent velocity with tight patterns.

If you hand load you may find the Reminton STS hulls easier to work with.

Gee sharptail, I don't have the Remington boxes in front of me from the last flat I bought, if I remember right, they just say Remington "target", can't remember the weight. And all I know about the Mirage is that I saw a lot of Mirage empties at the the gun club last time I went and when I phoned for the price on target loads at Italian I was told $48.00.

One plus for the Gun Clubs is that they are pretty good for reloading.

I can't comment on the Mirages for reloading, as I have never seen one.

If you are going cheap, X2 on the Top Guns. I found them to be cleaner than Gun Clubs, and way cleaner than Super Targets. The down side is that Top Guns seem to be a rather pungent load. Some guys say they downright stink.

Keep a couple of hundred freshly-fired "Top Guns" in an open container in your vehicle as an air freshener. You'll get used to it .... right up there with Hoppe's No. 9, pipe smoke, fall marshes at dawn, wood fires and wet dog fur !
The only thing better ... once fired Federal Handicap papers !!! :D
