click - no bang - hammer not coming out

This is a hammerless 12Ga, took it to the range today to play and it only clicks, no bang. Further inspection, looks like the hammer does not come out to play. Anyone fix this problem on a hammerless before? If I remove the small pin (top one), will that allow the hammer assy to come out for inspection? Only paid $60 for it at auction, is it worth it to have a gunsmith look at it?

The firing pin may be broke from dry firing. If you post pics it may help with figuring out the problem.

what kind of pic?

I can see the firing pin in the hole, and it does move, just not all the way out. under magnification, it does look like it's been broken.

if you take the stock off, there is access to the firing mechanism from behind?

If the firing pin tip is broke off then it wont fire. Pretty common on the hammerless shotguns because every time you "break" the gun it cocks the hammer. Then you have to fire it. I had the same thing happen to my Beretta. If you cannot find another hammer then take it to a gunsmith and they will drill it out the firing pin and weld/solder a new pin in and re harden it. Same thing they did to my gun. It cost usually around $60-$80 to fix it.
