Clobb Comp **NEW VIDEO POST #65**

After a brief discussion with the CGNer Clobbersaurus, he agreed to send me the muzzle break he is designing so I could test it on my 14.5" LMT AR. I put about 200 rounds through the AR with the Clobb Comp (patent pending :p).

Several things I noticed about the comp before I shot it was that it is very well constructed, hardened well, and is about the same size and weight as an A2 flash hider.

During the testing, I also had a friends 14.5" LMT with A2 FH available to compare felt recoil, muzzle rise and extra concussion caused by the break. The LMT with A2 flash hider had a quad rail installed, so it was slightly heavier than my bone stock LMT.

Despite the fact that the AR equipped with the A2 FH was heavier than my LMT equipped with the Clobb Comp, the comp equipped AR had noticeably decreased muzzle rise and felt recoil. In 10 yard rapid fire tests, 10 round groups for the Clobb Comp AR were 25-30% smaller than the non Clobb Comp AR. I did not notice any significant overcompensation with my 14.5" AR.

The comp equipped AR, although noticeably louder than an AR with a standard A2 flash hider, was still bearable with only a single layer of ear protection. In short, it's not as loud as some muzzle breaks. Also, dust kicked up when firing a rifle with the comp from prone is not excessive compared to that of an A2 flash hider.

My biggest criticism is that the comp is not parkerized, although since this is a prototype, this point is moot.

Unfortunately, since my range only allows shooting during daytime hours and I was shooting on a bright, sunny day, I was unable to test the flash hiding capabilities of the comp.

Over all, it is an effective compensator that is not overly annoying for nearby shooters. Admittedly, there are more effective comps available, but these are usually larger, louder, and much more annoying for anyone beside you. Basically, I feel that there could be a niche that the comp fills.

Also, special thanks to Clobbersaurus for letting me test out the comp.
