Howdy all. So has anyone tried cloned leupolds on their M14S?.Just wondering how they're holding up since these rifles are deadly on scopes.

I have heard that that dont last long on a AR 15 I don't think the survival rate on a M14 is going to be any better, they are best suited on a 22 or airsoft rifle.

I tried a Bushnell clone (Didn't know it was a knock off until I sent it to B&L for repair). It lasted 100 rounds and then the groups went from 1" to 4'. Don't waste your money, time and ammunition.

Thanks for the input guys.Guess I'll try it on one of my bolt guns instead.I wonder if the 6mm Remington would kill it?

I haven't got any experience with the leo clone BUT I have been testing these NCStar scopes...... Actually the samples i was given came to me 3 years ago. One of them a 6 - 18 x 50 with adjustable parralax has seen over 1500 rounds of 165 gr on one of my norcs and it still holds zero. Actually this scope will be my service rifle optic. I have a newer NCStar on another m14 (actually sold the package to a buddy recently) it is a 3-12 x 42 illuminated recticle and it now has over 800 rounds without a hiccup.....
I think for the $$$ ..... a decent NCStar will give you more life than the bushnell and leopold knock offs..... in my limited experience.

Burnt twice! This is where the second mistake ended up. The first one is in the landfill. The M305 action is really hard on scopes, get the best you can afford or better yet save and wait until you can aford a good one. In the mean time learn to use that peep sight.

Peep sight accuracy will surpise you! Trust me.

why would ANYONE want to clone a bushnell- their price point is just about as cheap as it gets, and it seems an exercise in redundancy to me- the norinco m14 clone, however, is NOT a cheap knockoff, but a QUALITY rifle - it would be a different thing if we were getting all kinds of faults and failures, but the track record belies that- if anything , you should be looking at spending at least as much on a scope and mount as you did on the rifle- this is not some cheap 22 you can stick any scope on

Where are you guys finding Leupold clones?

My Bushnell clones came from ebay. The vendor had Bushnell and Tascos with some but not all advertised as clones. $50 for a $300 scope seemed worth a try. Once received I was so convinced it was legit (even came with Canadian warrentee instructions) that I ordered a second. After 100 rounds the scope failed to hold zero so I packaged it up and sent it to B&L for repair. B&L returned the scope and my return postage cheque with a note stating that it was not their product. Ya I know.... if it seems too good to be true it probably isn't.

A rule of thumb once told to me was that your optics should cost at least as much as the rifle. Anyone else heard this saying?

If it's cheap and you know it's a clone. that's ok, It's the guys who are pulling a fast one that are getting me pissed.

I dont know. my clone lasted about 25 rounds before the turrets popped off from the recoil...even after tightening them down again it was the same....didnt hold zero at all either....
could have been a lemon of a knock off who knows
