Close to Vancouver??

Yeah, the website says that it's basically closed to non-residents. It's been like that for a year or two.

Squamish would have been ideal, it looks like the perfect set up for what I want.
.

No, what happens is that residents get first crack and then out of town membership opens up. The dates change when to apply and fills up quickly, usually within the first few weeks it opens.

It's more that we are worried we are holding up the line. We take longer to mount the shotgun and get ready to shoot, so we don't want to ruin the rhythm of other shooters.
The range at Langley uses microphones, so we can both shoot together.

Most shooters are happy to take new shooters out and help them. Its in most cases the fastest and easiest way to improve. You should never be afraid to shoot with others and ask questions. If they get upset there not the people you want to shoot with anyway.

Thanks for the explanation.

Looks like a few more North Shore members here.

Posting from the hospital. 8lb 7oz baby girl born this morning. Baby and mom doing well. Dad's going to need a bigger gun.

Hi everyone,

I've recently moved to North Van and have been looking into registering to the Squamish Rod and Gun club. The only issue I have is that you need a sponsor and unfortunately I don't know anyone from the club.

Is this really required? or is there someone out there maybe can help out?

Cheers

Do any of these clubs in the lower mainland have rental firearms available?

DVC Ventures aka vancouvergunrange.com has rental firearms. Check the website for info. I believe Range Langley is going to have rental firearms but I don't know if they are fully open yet.

For shotguning close to Vancouver? VGC no question.

Fantastic sporting clays course every Sunday, trap and skeet every day and Sunday plus a great 5 stand setup.

None of the the other ranges come close. The only drawback is that it's shotguns only, which means you'll need to go somewhere else for your pistol and rifle needs.

My recommendation, show up on a Sunday and spring for a day card, try out everything and I'm sure that'll make your decision an easy one
